Helmy Syakh Alam<\/a> and I wrote a paper together about the role of collaboration between higher education institutions in order to develop and implement validation strategies. Helmy traveled to Bangkok and presented it at the 18th\u00a0UNESCO APEID 2016 conference!\u00a0(Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development = APEID)<\/p>\n

Helmy presented our at the slot called “Pathway to Accreditation and Validation of Learning for All”. We included the experiences from the #VALERU project in the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Sneak Peek into the Paper<\/h3>\n

One of the main conclusions were:<\/p>\n

“The project set-up, its communication structures and cultures have a strong impact on collaboration within an interdisciplinary, international team. Just if relevant stakeholders collaborate, a meaning-making process is stimulated, which can result into a common policy of how to implement a validation-strategy in a transparent, quality-assured, country-wide way. It was shown on the example of the VALERU project, how important collaboration is for the success of a project, which aims at stimulating change-making in higher education. Also, examples were given how components of collaboration were realised in the project.” (Alam, Grundschober 2016, p. 8)<\/p>\n

Helmy’s\u00a0Experience<\/h3>\n

Unfortunately, I couldn’t come with Helmy to present our paper with him, but he told me that the feedback he got after the presentation was quite good:<\/p>\n

“Some of the audiences, esp. the ones from Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippine, and Thailand, were so excited about the project. Hopefully, we can find the way to do collaborative project about VNIL.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We would be happy to support other countries in developing VNIL strategies and piloting procedures and we are looking forward to collaborate and cooperate with new partners in the future! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

By the way, the next project in the near future will be VINCE<\/a>:”Validation for Inclusion of New Citizens of Europe – VINCE” under the KA3 call EACEA\/05\/2016 Initiatives for policy innovation – Social inclusion through education, training and youth. Starting in December 2016!<\/p>\n
